About Us:

Laurie E. Notch, President

Laurie is a published author of nonfiction, fiction, and cyber graphic novels. She has lectured at Tufts University among other colleges in the U.S., Europe, Africa, and Asia. She is the President and Founder of Wasted Minds Media Group, Inc. She currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Daily, she holds the position of Managing Editor of IdeaGems Publications. She is the creative fuel of the WMMG. Current projects include Cube Ghouls, a feature film musical “zomb-edy,” the documentary, Spanking Tinkerbell: Exploring Taboos in Suburban America, Ghost Quest, and Strange Attractors, a reality TV program that investigates the odd and extraordinary. In 2007,Laurie published her first novel, The Spoiler: An Inter-temporal Mystery. Laurie has been a guest on the Donahue Show (1980) and Debra Nigro’s First Wives World (2007) along with various radio interviews in the US and abroad for her work for the 1988 Olympics.

Kumar Ghosh Prasanta “Kumar” Ghosh, CEO/CFO

Originally from India, Prasanta “Kumar”Ghosh attended the University of Maryland where he earned his BA in Accounting. Kumar got his MBA at Strayer University in Maryland. He worked for the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the FDIC as a financial analyst. Today Kumar has his own accounting practice in the Metro-Washington DC area. He is the C.F.O. and C.E.O. of Wasted Minds Media Group, Inc. He is also the head of a micro-financing project for women’s education and economic development in India.

John E. Seymore, COO

As Chief Operating Officer, John manages the daily operations of Wasted Minds Media Group, Inc. John has a history within the restaurant industry, business consulting and management, sales and media. He brings an array of skills and experience to the company that is invaluable for success. He currently is Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors. In addition, John is a founding member of the Social Network of Maine, The NEWArts Center (where he serves as Executive Director) and The Fenix Theatre Company (serving as Managing Director). John's focus is in research and development of new concepts and the continued cultivation of existing projects. In December of 2008, John merged his media interests with the interests of Wasted Minds Media Group, Inc. John is the creator of The Southern Maine Signal Magazine, NE Sound, EcoMag, Maine Realty Store, NEWTV, LVC United and The Seymore Marketing Group.

In 2002, he joined the United States Coast Guard Reserves as a Marine Safety Technician. During his time he was awarded multiple accommodations. He holds several certifications from FEMA and was awarded the Congressional Order of Merit in 2007. He is a published author, magazine editor, screenwriter, director and producer. His first short film is in consideration for the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.

John holds a Bachelor's Degree in Politics from the University of Dallas, a Master's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health with a concentration in Environmental Management from Columbia Southern University, and is currently working towards a his MBA with a dual focus in Marketing and International Business.

Eve L Nelson, Esq., Vice-President Legal Affairs

Born and bred in Portland, Maine, Eve L. Nelson, Esq. attended and graduated (cum laude) from Tufts University. She also attended La Sarbonne in Paris and later obtained her law degree from Northeastern University Law School. She practiced Entertainment Law in New York City , where she was a board member and counsel to the Anthology Film Archives. Eve returned to Maine to head up the credit department of a family business, then returned to the practice a law as a mediator, community resolution team member, and guardian ad litem. She currently serves as general counsel to Wasted Minds media Group, Inc.

Mary E. Regan

A native Portlander and youngest of 8, Mary has a diverse background in media/PR, administrative, and campaign work. With an initial career track in journalism, Mary has since branched out to do freelance public relations promotions for various clients ranging from local artists to commercial clients through her Anyway! PR consultancy and past freelance work for BrandME Marketing in South Portland. She serves as a Publicist and Researcher for WMMG.

Ms. Regan and the President of Wasted Minds Media Group, Laurie Notch, were former coworkers at Maine Time Banks’ nonprofit, and became good friends thereafter. Both Notch and Regan had a “think tank” sign on their office door there and have been creatively brainstorming ever since! Mary has worked in many capacities within radio, TV, and print, from running camera on a newscast, anchoring a radio news update, or doing copy editing for a newspaper. A versatile writer, she can write ad copy, news copy, and press releases and can also read or sing ad copy! Mary thrives when working to bring ideas and people together to make things happen and is invaluable during strategy sessions. Aside from media and public relations, Mary also has an administrative and political organizing background and is very civic-oriented.

Mary holds a B.A. in Communication from the University of Southern Maine. She is a lifelong learner, having taken graduate level public policy courses at the Muskie School, and has a Certificate in Public Speaking from having taken the Dale Carnegie Course. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, reading, exercising, spending time with friends, photography, and traveling. Have you ever wanted to work in the film, television, publishing or music business? How about all of them at once! We are all of those along with our commitment to environmental stewardship; we are one Maine’s best new businesses to work for. Research and Development - Researching potential new products and projects.

Business Office- Position will work with the daily operations of our business, assisting with record coming, scheduling, filing and other basic office work. It will require a basic understanding of office organization and an attention to detail.

Environment and Charity Work- Do you consider yourself an environmentalist? Have you ever volunteered for a charitable organization? This position may be what you are looking for. We are always looking for ways to progress in the environmental field and to research and developing relationships with charities in Maine.

Sales- You will have an opportunity to earn commission and develop valuable sales skills.

Wasted Minds Entertainment

We are looking for Maine’s next talented film professionals. We are seeking interns to work directly with the development of new television and film productions. You will have a chance to learn every aspect of the film industry from the ground up! We are currently working on six television series and three films. Travel opportunities will be offered, as well as opportunities to be in front of the camera.
This position we offer commission opportunities. It will require 15 hrs a week. Six positions are available. Two positions will work directly with Flat Foot Films .

WMMG, Inc believes that the greatest asset we can be to our community is in service. We hope to set an example of charity and assistance by giving back what we can in order to help those in our community that are in need. Here are some of the ways in which we have chosen to do our part:

Fund-Raising: We have to decided to offer a portion of all sales of The Southern Maine Signal to promote youth in Maine. We will work with schools, universities and organizations to offer opportunities for them to raise money to promote the cause of education and the enrichment of the lives of children and young adults. It is our belief that a better educated population will lead to a better, more prosperous Maine.
Five years ago, Laurie Notch founded Adventures for the Average Woman, with idea of giving a platform to launch the careers of talented woman writers and artists. Today, we continue that effort and we are expanding the publication to include more opportunities.
Through NE Sound and Maine Artist Studio, we offer an affordable way for artists to promote themselves on the internet, while keeping valuable dollars in the state. We also promote concerts and art events to help showcase undiscovered talent.
We are dedicated to making the dreams of others a reality. We give preference to Maine artists and entrepreneurs that seek to produce art or start a business in Maine. We also accept internships from Maine students on a continual basis, in order to provide them with valuable experience to promote a better trained and knowledgeable Maine workforce.
We offer special discounted pricing on goods and services to Non-Profit Organizations to assist in their causes.
We are always open to listen to solicitations from any organization that seeks to aid and assist in the betterment of Maine and/or the World.
